OAKS, PA – October, 20, 2011 – The staff of Zenkaikon is pleased to announce that its sixth annual convention will take place on May 11-12, 2012 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.

“Many of our members have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of our next convention, since construction at the Valley Forge Convention Center meant we needed to find a new home. We’re pleased to have found one that will provide us all the space we need to have an exciting 2012 event!” says Convention Chair Matilda Madden.

Zenkaikon intends to utilize the unique layout of the space to provide a new, festival atmosphere for 2012. Attendees can also expect to see many of the events they have come to enjoy at Zenkaikon in previous years, including panels, screenings, musical performances, special guests, gaming, vendors, and more.

The Zenkaikon staff wishes to thank all the attendees who have supported the convention over the years, helping it grow from only a few hundred attendees in 2006 to over three thousand last year. More information regarding guests, events, and registration will be available soon.

About Zenkaikon: Since 2006, Zenkaikon has been bringing quality Japanese animation (anime), comics (manga), and popular culture themed events to the Philadelphia area. The convention is staffed completely by volunteers, who want to share their appreciation for these mediums with the Philadelphia region. Zenkaikon features a variety of activities including anime and live action screenings, video and tabletop gaming, special guests, costume competitions, panels, concerts, vendors, and more. Starting as a small one-day event, the convention has grown rapidly to welcome over three thousand attendees in 2011. The Zenkaikon staff wishes to thank all the attendees who have supported and helped it grow over the years. They look forward to building an event that will be an integral part of the region’s culture for many years to come. More information on Zenkaikon is available at
