The Steampunk Anachronism Meets The Goblin Market

Aired: September 29th, 2012

One of New York City’s friendliest Steampunk events meets dark interactive theatre, in a show with special guests all the way from Chicago! Just as New York Comic Con ends, The Anachronism begins, and you’re most cordially invited – we welcome one and all. Come share Halloween with us!

The Anachronism showcases genre-bending Steampunk musical artists in a welcoming environment; The Goblin Market’s actors mingle with the crowd and sell their eerie wares to all and sundry.

We are put on by the world’s largest ticketed Steampunk event –www.SteampunkWorldsFair.com, coming May 17-19th to Piscataway, New Jersey.

Our events are open to anyone who enjoys spectacular dark music and Halloween times – regardless of whether you’re Goth, Steampunk, geeky, or what-have-you. We’re queer-friendly, trans-firendly, Pagan-friendly, but most of all, we try to be just plain friendly!

In addition to our welcoming atmosphere, unique absinthe cocktails, and good times, we have a half-dozen headlining performers – any one of whom could cost as much as our mere $15 admission (that is, $15 in advance, $20 at door). We try hard to be, not just a spectacular event, but an unbeatable value. In addition to longtime favorite Voltaire, we are the debut NYC show for Unwoman, all the way from Chicago! And much more – see below!

About our headliners:

Unwoman (www.unwoman.com) has performed with Amanda Palmer, Rasputina, Abney Park, and the inimitable Voltaire; see her incredible solo performance live, in an untimate setting!

Vourteque (http://soundcloud.com/steampunk-chicago-djs/vourteque-track-1) is a DJ-performer whose sets have pioneered Steampunk dancing.

Voltaire (www.voltaire.net) is the clown prince of just about everything. He’s taking time out from working on his latest album, BiTreksual, to come and drink our bar dry.

Psyche Corporation(www.psychecorporation.com) is like 180-proof absinthe mixed with candy; a spectacular voice, enthralling storytelling songs, and the ability to wear scarves in a provocative manner.

The Goblin Market (www.facebook.com/TheGoblinMarket) is a place where the unreal bleeds into the everyday; it’s an interactive atmospheric show which wanders through the club all through the night.

The Anachronism will be held on October 14 at Club Element in New York City’s Lower East Side.
