Aired: October 21st, 2010
The panel was delayed due to equipment failure. Because of the problems, they were unable to show all of the trailers that they wanted to. However, information was given which is the essential part of the panel.
Bandai first announced their online store which will include Bandai-only exclusive dvds. Volume 2 of Gundam Unicorn: The Second Coming of Char will be out on November 12 this year only at the Bandai store and Amazon. The Melancholoy of Suzumiya Haruhi Nyoron! Churuya-san part 1 is only available at the Bandai store…and the booth at the convention. The original English voice cast reprises their SD roles in this series.
The beautiful 5 Centimeters Per Second trailer was shown and they announced that the dvd is another Bandai exclusive. It has all 3 episodes along with tons of bonus features. English track is from Ban-Zoom. All the pre-order titles have a lower price…though the release date for 5 Centimeters will be announced later on. They show the Durarara!!! trailer and announced that part 1 dvd set will be released in January 25, 2011. The trailer for R.O.D. was played and they noted that the complete blu-ray boxset will be available January 18, 2011. (Obviously, both trailers were the same as from the Aniplex panel the day before.) The dvd for Gurren Lagann: Childhood’s End was has two different releases, a regular one and the limited edition includes the ‘Parallel Works’ extra along with postcards.
Announcements! New releases! The first one was an amazing one since it’s something that fans have been asking for for a looooong time. They show the trailer before a formal announcement just to wow the fans…and yes, we were wowed. Cheering and everything. ^_^
The original series, Mobile Suit Gundam will be released in two parts…coming 2011. The next announcement is K-On! which will be released in Spring 2011. Cristina Vee (Mio) came onstage to announce the new cast members: Cassandra Lee will be playing Ritsu and Shelby Lindley will be Mugi. There will be limited edition and regular releases for both dvd and blu-ray for this series.
The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi will be released in Spring 2011. (The subtitled movie will be playing in Honolulu, Hawaii in October 29 at the Kahala Mall.)
Some more blu-rays to be expected in the future is the The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society (which was delayed.) The final announcement is the Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer which will be released in the US.
A special message from Director Mizushima-san was played. (They also played a different special message just for people who went to the see the premiere screening on sunday.)
Mizushima: Thank you for attending the Bandai Entertainment panel. I’m Seiji Mizushima, the director of Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Tomorrow, all of you will have a chance to watch Mobile Suit Gundam 00 The Movie on the big screen. I do hope everyone will thoroughly enjoy the film on the big screen. Please come see it tomorrow!
Q&A next with t-shirts given by Ms. Vee to people who ask ‘good questions’.
Q: Will the Gundam 00 movie/series also be released on blu-ray?
A: No news as of yet, but we will take note of that.
Q: Will you be releasing the Turn A Gundam soundtrack?
A: No plans at this time.
Q: Are there any job openings at Bandai?
A: Not at this time, but unless I get blamed for the power point failure, there might be a vacancy. *audience laughs*
Q: Any news on the American release of ZZ Gundam and Gundam X?
A: Any news that we haven’t announced related to Gundam is that we don’t know. We have shown all we know.
Q: Any news about Suzumiya Haruhi live, K-on! live and Lucky Star live on dvd?
A: No.
Q: Are you going to dub the songs from K-on!?
A: Songs will be in original Japanese.
Q: The R1 dvds of Haruhi are cropped and artifically sharpened. Will there be a re-release of that?
A: That’s a question I never received. No answer to that….
Q: Any plans to release a master collection for Haruhi with season 1 and 2 together.
A: Not at this moment…but we released season 2 as a single boxset.
Q: How is Bandai coordinating with publishers in that new anti-scanlation alliance?
A: We are not part of it, but certainly we support any effort to deter piracy.
Q: Is there a delay with the Lucky Star manga?
A: Yes, there is a delay with Lucky Star vol. 6. There was a production delay, but it has been shipped out and should be in stores in 2 weeks. Vol. 7 is on schedule, already finished and should be in stores in November. The most recent volume in Japan, vol. 8 is schedule for the beginning of 2011.

A: No, there are no plans for a dub at this time.
Q: Any plans to release a special edition of Kannagi?
A: We did release a two part dvd set and we licensed the manga, but besides that, no. We will fix the Kannagi website.
Q: Whats the state of the anime industry?
A: Do what you can to support licensed anime.
Q: Any plans to release Mai-Hime on blu-ray?
A: Not at this time.
Q: Any plans to streaming any of the titles?
A: No announcements or plans at this time.
It seems that unfortunately, many of the things they were asked were things they have no new plans about. Of course, what they did announce was pretty awesome. They went over the Bandai-related activities at the convention before concluding the panel.
In actuality, I had a question that I wanted to ask: will they be licensing the new Gundam 00 manga that was by character designer, Kouga Yun-sensei. I did manage to ask the staff at the Bandai booth later on and the answer was…he doesn’t know at this time. Since they licensed the other Gundam 00 manga series, it would be something they would look into…but no promises.
